2005 Contest Results

The band is looking forward to the 2005 season. We have strong musical leadership from Pipe Major Angus MacPherson and lead drummer Alistair Fraser and improved numbers and talent on our snare line. We have introduced some new players to the tenor corps and have our original lead drummer, Gwyn MacGregor, playing bass. In the pipe section, we have had a couple of veteran players take the year off but fortunately, a couple of players have returned to the band. We will have, once again, a strong pipe section for the summer games circuit and the trip back East to Maxville/Montreal. The goal this year is to improve the quality and consistency of our performances with a focus on our MSR playing. We had a great day at Montreal in 2004. We are hoping to play at that standard at both Maxville and Montreal in August.

We finished off the season with a second place overall at the North Amerian Championships in Maxville and placed second at Montreal. A strong showing by an improved drum section helped us immensely in both the local games circuit and the trip back East. We are looking to build upon our performance this year for a trip to the Worlds in 2006.
